Its a beautiful day here in NJ. The snow covers the streets and the sun is beating down. For those of you watching the Superbowl, Have a fantastic day. Thank you to all my supporters for your encouraging advice. Once again you have summoned my strength and reminded me that I cannot allow this thing to take over. I thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and experiences. You are all “TROOPERS” in this WAR! None of you have or had it easy, yet you are all “FIGHTERS” that offer encouragement to others like me.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

I will take your advice and live every day like its me BEST!

Love ya,
Elena xoxoxoxo

Elena

Thank you for your courage and inspiration. You will come out of this victorious and will inspire others. All of our journey’s have up’s and downs and it gets to us all at times. You’re an example of those who holds their heads up high and take this challenge head on and defeat it. If it was a cake walk this blog wouldn’t be necessary.

Love and big hugs my friend.

Ron

Hi Elena,
I’m glad you got through your rough spot. Yesterday i had to take call 911 for my next door neighbor as he collapsed after a chemo treatment. He’s having a tough time with prostate cancer that has spread.

If you would like to put me in touch with my ENT or ONC regarding your problem it might be time for some additional outside opinions. I am grateful to God everyday that the team and docs as Stony Brook University Hospital treated me so well.

I know it’s a bit of a drive but it’s not really that far.

Let me know what you think.

Hugs & prayers,

Love,

Jacques

Thinking of you Elena!

hey elena…
sorry to hear about your struggles with swallowing…and i hope when you see your doctor on tuesday…things will feel less uncertain…and the next plan of action will allow you to swallow…
i found through this journey, especially in times of difficult moments, i would get filled with a flooding of emotions…for me, it was due to my feelings of fear and uncertainty…

  • i wanted to know that the treatment professionals knew what was happening…
  • that they could and were going to help me…
  • and mostly, i wanted to know…

i was going to be ok…

i will say prayers for you {especially on tuesday}

if this is helpful info..
i remember at first, when i started to learn how to swallow again {several weeks after surgeries}—it was a struggle, {after alittle of water in my mouth} i was guided to turn/tilt my head to the side and try to swallow…many times it was not successful and the water came up through my nose…uch!...though eventually, it was successful

about the snow…from one new jerseyian to another…it sure was amazing snowfall…
today, alot of digging out !

let us know how things go…
god bless elena

Very nice to hear how well your coping. Great job, although we all know how hard it is you have always been a warrior. Peace, Sharron

Hi Elena!

I am so sorry to read about your struggles with the post-radiation and surgery. I hope that by the time you read this… you are having better days.

I am very humbled to read that my experience and blog have been an inspiration to you. So much so that it caused me to shed tears.

You are also an inspiration to me! You’ve had to deal with so much more than my treatments and I’ve only imagined you handling it all with such grace, dignity and class. It gives me hope that there are many more truly wonderful and special people who will cross paths with me in this lifetime.

Many hugs and blessings!

Elana Rose
